Wanting to renovate a house means you’re sick and tired of looking at the same thing for the past 5 or so years. A change is needed and if you are going to change it on a very tight budget, then you know there isn’t really you could do much to change anything.
Or is there?
Ladies and gentlemen, yes, it IS indeed possible to renovate your home with an extremely tiny budget for it. How are you going to it?
Clean up
The best thing to do if you want a change in your house is to clean. You would be surprised with how much the house would look once it’s been cleaned. So make sure you go do that first and if you are contented with the end result without going to the next step, then just stop there.
Natural light without putting up windows
There are a lot of ways of doing this but the most effective way would be installing a light tube which taps light from your roof and brings that light right into your living room. It’s cheaper than punching a hole into the wall and then claiming it’s a new window.
Efficiency, not size
Little changes, like rearranging stuff around for efficiency and for better use. Utilising the free space and everything else you have in the house. For example, shelves use a lot of space so replace them with cabinets instead.
Demolish stuff by yourself
Hiring other people to do it for you may indeed be quicker and a safer option, but if the part that needs demolishing isn’t that great or big, then just do it yourself to save money? Use the money on paint or something.
Renovate the front door
The front door is like the biggest first impression to have. Sometimes it changes how the guests look at your house because it’s what they walk towards to and therefore, their eyes are trained on it. Redesign your front door and change it.
Kitchen tiles
The kitchen is a very important part of the house. You don’t have to destroy a wall to make room for it or buy new electronics. Changing the tiles is a big step already and it won’t even take you much. Just go for a brighter and more efficient kind of tile and replace the old ones.
Change the rug
The rug is like the tiles in the kitchen. If you’re in doubt, change that too. Not only will your living room look better, but the air would be cleaner too, since a new rub would mean less dust to breathe in with the air.
Interior and exterior painting
You don’t have to paint the whole house. Painting a single wall can sometimes be enough. Just be sure you know what colour you wish to put on there.
